Roger Scrivens to run London 10k for charity
RS Aqua proprietor, Roger Scrivens, will be participating in this year’s London 10k run on Sunday 11th July. He will be running to raise funds for the charity Epilepsy Bereaved where he is a Trustee. He and wife, Sandie, lost their youngest daughter Becky to SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) in May 2004 when she was just 3 months from her 12th birthday. To read Becky’s story click here.
At the time of the run, Roger will be 3 months short of his 65th birthday and is following a strict training programme (presently 4km per night three times a week) to ensure he is up to the task on the day.
The run involves some of London’s best known landmarks as it starts at Hyde Park Corner, follows the Embankment to the Tower of London, crosses the Thames at Westminster Bridge, then circuits Parliament Square before concluding in Whitehall. However, Roger does not expect to be spending much time sightseeing!
Donations to support Roger’s efforts can be made via his Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/Roger-Scrivens
