Seaguard RCM current meters for NOC Southampton

A supply of 16 x AADI (Aanderaa Data Instruments,Norway) Seaguard RCM deep water current meters has been shipped to the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton (NOCS). The 6000m rated devices are already well proven and popular within the ocean research fraternity with significant quantities having been supplied to UK users during the year.

The Seaguard RCM introduces leading edge technology and sophistication to single point current metering whilst retaining Aanderaa’s legendary reputation for reliability and ruggedness.

More news will follow shortly regarding other Seaguard RCM contracts including real-time monitoring system applications.

The image below shows one of the NOCS instruments. The optional “Smart” sensors for Temperature, Conductivity and Pressure measurements are clearly illustrated along with the power efficient Z-Pulse current sensor. Other optional features include sensors for Dissolved Oxygen (Optode) and Turbidity along with the capability to have sensors remotely attached to the main body via cable links.
